Incrediblely loud squealing

Post by Doug G »

Incrediblely loud squealing (from Moke's engine compartment) when starting off under load (2 adults in front and 2 children in rear ) in first and second gears then it stops after a couple seconds?

Any suggestions* ?

* Apart from "ignore it".

Its unusual in a moke, but it could be a slipping fan belt, check that it is tensioned correctly.

Are you sure you havn't got one of the islands pigs trapped under there?.............Or has the mechanic finished working on it ?....................Or are the passengers squealing in fright at the velocities achieved ? :D
