considering a MOKE purchase

Post by m1n1s »

Hi, :D

I'm a long time classic Mini owner about to buy a moke, any tips on where to look for rot? usual places? expected price to pay?

The moke is a 1988 portugese model, 998cc, imported to the uk in 2005, converted to rhd, looks in good condition, recent respray, new tax and test. hood etc...

Regards,

Basically look in the same places where a mini would rot.

Price is dictated by the seller and if the buyer wants to pay the price they are asking.

Well done, congratulattions.

Can you post a picture or two?

Trust that the "little work" is not too expensive or time consuming and will allow you to get out and enjoy your Moke.

If you are on the Island, you do not have to book a ferry crossing.

It looks like it is in very good condition.

The side fuel filler indicates Portugese doeasn't it?

Did the Portugese Moke have the English or Aussie style rear fender?

PS I dont think that the hood will work on the orange Mini.

I like the Mini in disguise!

Doug, the Portuguese mokes started out with the Aussie style rear but when they reduced the wheel size they went back to the early flat one. Its really a wheel size thing, rather than an English/Aussie/Portuguese thing.
