Does anybody know where I can obtain a genuine side battery cover for an English moke. I mean the panel with the four bolt holes in it. The version that did not have a hinge.

From the classifieds section...
Correct me if I am wrong.

I believe the one with a cut out from one orner is an early Australian type, no cut out or hinge is English.Has anyone got a side battery cover for an English Moke. The one with four bolt holes in it and a cut out from one corner. NOT THE COVER WITH THE HINGE!!

I think the side-screens where different.
Hope you can see it on the detail pic.
Battery covers do rust, they might be replaced over the years.

Yep, the cutout goes at the top to clear the toggle that holds down the leading edge of the rear side cover.
Unfortunately someone resprayed my car with the cover on upside down, when I ditched the hard top and fitted the soft top I had to put it on the right way up, so I have a small primer coloured patch in the lower corner now.
The ones with the cutout corner are still available new in Australia. If that was your only option, I suspect it would be easy to weld a replacement piece back in.

Now I am confused!! What did the original side battery cover look like on a 1965/66 English Moke?
