Carburettor Float Chambers

Post by David Biss »

Hi Guys,
Am I right in observing that SU carbs seem to have a strange difference between the HS2 and HS4 in that the float chamber on the HS2 is on the nearside, but on the HS4 it is on the offside making it more difficult to feed from the fuel line supplied from the tank via the back nearside corner of the bulkhead from an electric pump fitted inside the pod next to the tank?
Is it best to use a mechanical pump instead?
Also any recommendation which size SU to use for a 998 short stroke South African built moke engine?
