Have just discovered that the barstewards that I bought the tyres and the rims from and had them fitted by them put two 165 size tyres on the rear wheels and two 175 tyres on the front.
Mind you they could have put the 165's on the roght and the 175's on the left or vice versa.
The chap at Wheels & Brakes, who did the drum to disk change over, has suggested swapping the front to the rear, on the grounds that the 160's will rub less on the inner fender when turning. I have agreed.
The question that arises in my mind is, does the difference in tyre sizes, bigger front and smaller rear or vice versa, make a significant (read dangerous) difference ?

No, the rear wheels are there more or less to keep the back of the car from dragging, the front wheels do almost all the work... You could put 10's back there if you wanted and it wouldn't really notice.

I think I am on the 'level'.
The 165 and the 175 refers to the width.
