Canterbury.
That would be Neil Tuson then.
He is also selling a few other Moke bits.

There's a few interesting things going on there. It has the 'lumpy' rear guards with extra reflectors and round tail lights indicating that its a 'special export' model, which fits the 1972 date. However its not obvious whether it has the deeper extensions on the front guards, and the side indicators are missing. It has also had a side fuel tank added. Exports used a sprite/midget tank within the rear subframe, with an empty space in the side where the tank should have been.
All in all that's an excellent starting point for a project, especially being that bit rarer.

Yeah, Neil was into the Exports. He had a nice restored one and a few other export projects. He must be having a clear out.Tim wrote:There's a few interesting things going on there. Yes that's right. If my memory is correct, Neil's Export Moke was a rather nice white one with the registration VLE 115M and unless I'm mistaken, this is the bodyshell from that Moke.Dean wrote:Neil was into the Exports. He had a nice restored one and a few other export projects.
It is easily identifiable as that shell because it has the wrong type of wing extensions. If you look carefully you can see that the shell has double width wing extensions rather than double height wing extensions that Export Mokes should have. Presumably when Neil had it restored in the early 90s, the bodyshop misunderstood what he meant when he asked for thicker wheel extensions.
Hmmmm. Looks like someone has been swapping the identities around as he says this Moke comes with an L registration.

Ah ha, I thought the guard extensions didn't look quite right. Luckily they are a simple part to get made and to replace, although the special side lights are hard to find. The same lights were used in US spec Triumphs and MGBs in the early '70s, so some of the US and Canadian suppliers have repros.Bodge wrote:It is easily identifiable as that shell because it has the wrong type of wing extensions.
