Yes, same problem for me!

Some time ago I asked for getting the classified section into the forum. I still believe this would make the classified area more frequently used and much more effective as a lot of us are looking into the forum more or less regular but not into the classifieds.

Nigel:
What about adding a "Classified" section with following content:

- Parts for sale
- Parts wanted
- Mokes for sale
- Mokes wanted
- maybe "ebay" could also be moved here

I´m open for discussion!

Sounds a very good idea as it feels a bit alienated from the main forum.

Although I'm also a fan of having the classifieds within the forum.
I would only ask that any negative comments about an ad should go in what is now the e-bay section.
On an  ther forum I frequent, it almost seems like a game how fast some posters can find fault with something advertised.... especially values.
The worth of something is what someone is willing to pay. If you're not buying, your opinion means nothing.

On the Ausmini forum 'For Sale' and Ebay advertisements cannot be commented on, once the initial ad is placed it can only be altered by the moderators. The Australian Mini community is pretty small and they found that it was causing fights every time someone criticised another member's ad.

On our forum in Belgium we have more then 300 members, really active about 50.
We have open topics , For Sale, Wanted, ...
But we have good people here in Belgium, sometimes there are discussions but it always end with good deals.

It is very difficult to find spares for Mokes, and i think it will be a little bit easier with normal topics as for sale, wanted.

Yes, I know this also from other forums. It is a real problem.
But aren't we all good guys and friends?

Why not trying for some time, if it does not work we still have a fall back strategy to allow edits only by the author of the tread.
