Cant find the thread, but a few weeks ago I had the 'situation' where the nut on the tie rod end for the right front wheel had parted company.
The tie rod end and the steering arm(?) also parted company.
This made steering rather interesting.
Cause : A certain individual ( I can't find out who it was*) had put a metric sized nut on the imperial sized thread.
This also resulted in the said threads being damaged.
Managed to order a pair of tie rod ends and have my son bring them out at Easter.
I must admit I was rather surprised when they fitted perfectly and the change over went relatively easily.
Now a happy Moker once again.
* I suspect it was the same barsteward
that put metric nuts on most of the wheel studs before I bought the Mini Moke . . . Three wheels separated from the Mini Moke, two overtook it, before I realised what was wrong in that instance . . ordered a complete new set of wheel nuts. What concerns me is what else has the bar steward done of a similar nature?
