Goathland North Yorkshire 22-24 April

Hi Everyone,
Simon Harper and family are planning a weekend event at Goathland, near Whitby from 22nd to 24th April.
This will be an informal weekend get together for us all to enjoy a Spring drive out in our Mokes.
There is some beautiful countryside around this area that we hope to explore and the lovely seaside town of Whitby is close by too!
Plans so far are as follows;
Meet up on 22nd April at Abbots House Farm Campsite in Goathland, Whitby YO22 5NH Tel 01947 896270 (call between 9 and 7 to book) e mail abbothouse@virginmedia.com
Please tell them you are with the Mini Moke Club
They also have self catering accomodation if you do not want to camp !
Further details for the weekend will be available shortly.
Please let us know if you are coming to this event, please book the campsite direct ,mentioning the Moke Club and just let us know that you have done so !!

Well only two weeks now to the event so things are falling into place
Simon and family have been for a scout around and have booked the Goathland Hotel for Saturday night, you can see the sample menu at www.thegoathlandhotel.co.uk
This is the hotel that featured in Heartbeat as the Aidensfield Arms !
looks like a good choice for a Saturday night get together

Yes Nigel, you missed the event of the weekend, we went through a very deep ford and Robin went all guns blazing and got stuck ! Hannah got out to push, he started moving and she went flat on her face into the freezing cold river.
it is a good job that Hannah can see the funny side of things and is a good sport.
Then Graham went through and his car cut out too
Finally Kate and Karen drove through without a hitch, one for the girls !

It was so cold I did actually sleep with more clothes on last night than I had when on I drove up there on Friday

Well, all I can say is, yes I did drown my Moke, managed to get it out of the ford without getting my feet wet. We had a fantastic weekend, yes it was cold, but enormous fun. Thanks must go to Simon Harper and Family for the idea, Mark and Pauline Nicholson for the fantastic runs, and Steve Hall for pulling it together. All in all a great weekend.

Hi Chris,
If I told you that snowball fights happened on two mornings, then yes the BBC got it right.!
However as you know we are stoic in the Moke Club and a bit of wind from the Arctic never stopped us going out without roofs
