Kevin, I’m spending what it costs, I want it to be right. The Moke is a 06/76 model. It did have a full pressed front but I couldn’t get one when we were putting it back together again. There was no dash top when I got it, I think the one I have is off a Portuguese Moke. Mine did have an ashtray to the right hand side of the steering wheel, l’m not putting it back. The side screens have been a point of much debate in my garage. I bought some metal framed ones but have now decided to get a Perspex set. It did have a reverse light bracket and I made that bigger to fix a reflector next to the reversing light. I have been trying to swap a set of my high backed ones for a set of low ones but without much success. When I got the car it was red, but had originally been Oh Fudge. I was going to paint it Flame red to match my Mini but I think it will be Willow Green.

Shaun, I managed to get in touch with Ron and I’m waiting on him to come back to me. He did tell me about his hood manufacturers so hopefully he’s able to sort something.

Getting ready to cut down the spare set of high backed seats I recently picked up. I don’t really want to cut them down but it’s difficult to get low backed seats. Needs must.

The low back seats are far more difficult to get than the high back. I've had five mokes, but only ever one single low backed seat. So on that basis the high backs are nine times more common than the low backs. I'm not sure how long they were used for in Australia, presumably only a couple of years in the late '60s to early '70s. There aren't a lot of surviving Mokes from that era because second-hand Mokes were basically worthless.

I managed to get set from Runamoke when I did my Moke. Might be worth a try first.

It’s been a while. I’ll be allowed back in the garage when the kitchen is finished.

Managed to get back into the garage. Starting to build up the front sub frame to try and get the Moke rolling.

Hi Martin just having a look at your work, looking what you are doing,I just noticed in your pictures of the rear seats you are missing the front centre mount for the back seats,it bolts in the crossmember under the front edge of the rear floor pan,Leo at moke panels sells the mount if you dont have it.

It’s a nightmare trying to match the holes in the seat frames with the holes in the bodywork. I think I’m going to have to drill more holes in the frames to try and make them fit and weld up the originals.

All the bits and pieces for the front suspension have arrived from Somerford Mini. That will take my mind off the rear seat fixing issues.
