Fuel Pump

Post by peterbradbury »

Hi All,

Currently my English Moke has a mechanical pump fitted, however all the fixing are there for an electric one. I'm going to be re doing all the fuel pipe this winter, and am considering if an electric pump with a hidden cut off switch might act as some helpful extra security. What are peoples thoughts?

Thanks

Peter

A mechanical fuel pump seems to go wrong less often than an electric one. BUT neither of them break very often and if they do break an electric one is easier to get to than a mechanical one

So that’s a plus and a minus for both of them but, as you say, there is the extra security of having a switch for the electric one.
I’ve had both and had no problems with either type
Come on summer
