I fitted a standard Mini Spares single box exhaust system (GEX106) a couple of years ago as part of a major rebuild. This exhaust has always been quite noisy and became tedious on my long trip to/from the Welsh weekend recently. Mt previous standard exhaust was great - just like a mini should sound. I have a standard cast iron manifold.
I have been looking at a Mini Spares RC40-011 centre exhaust with a LD92 adaptor from 1.25" to 1.75”. However, I am a little unsure as a friend with a similar engine in a mini had bad experiences with a larger exhaust that caused loss of power etc. My other alternative, I guess, is to fit an additional box to the existing set up.
I would welcome any advice / past experiences please.

Give Maniflow a call, 01722 335378. They are very helpful, and steer clear of 1.75"

In the end, I have fitted a standard two silencer exhaust from Minispares. This is so much better than the single box one they say should go on my 1965 Moke. The car runs better and seems to have better water temperatures on long hills etc. At the Welsh weekend I looked at several other contemporary Mokes and was interested to see that some had this two box set up.
