HOW LONG

Post by Doug G »

How long should it take a competent mechanic to replace :
  • The flywheel Bolt and Lock Washer - Pre Verto
The flywheel Key Plate - Pre Verto 1
The two front CV Joints (using the CV kit) Kit Including boots
    The engine mounting standard brackets
The Engine Steady Bush Kit - Competition Rubber
The Poly Bush Kit - Gearbox Stabiliser
and the Gearbox Mounting Remote Type 1 Each 6.34
So basically the flywheel bolted lock washer, the engine mounts and gearbox stabiliser.

2, 4, 8, 12,16, 24 working hours, longer ?

My 'mechanic' says that I may get it back in the second week in January.

He already has the parts for 10 days already.

Told me I needed parts. I got them. He then sat around for two months doing nothing.

Then says I need another set of parts (see above post). I got them here on the 10th.

12-13 hours, a bit extra included for hardware that does not want to play well. Also depends on how easy the flywheel comes off and if he has the proper tool to assist in that.

Hi Doug. I would agree with Willie_B should about 12-13 hours, however it may depend on Manyana, had a Sprinter van blow a Turbo in Spain, dealer said ready in a day, actually took 4 days and me kicking off!!!!! On that basis I would say about a week.

The distributor is here, now he want boots for the front cv joints (which I have bought).

Then the Mini Mokes needs a MOT +/-£12.50 (such as it is here) then get it licensed +/-£325.00.

Money money money.

Oops, currency error should be +/-£100.00.

Both costs are per year.
