What is the correct procedure for bleeding the braking system on my Mini Moke?
IE which wheel first and how to do it.
Always seems a bit of a black art to me.
There seems to be a likkle leak in the system.
Found one at the point where the brake pipe enters the wheel.
All very wet with brake fluid.

Re: Bleeding procedure
Probably the same as every other Moke in the World, front-rear split or single line. Both use the same bleeding sequence.Nigel(no top)Sykes wrote:first question must be, what system do you have ?
Start at the wheel furthest away from the master cylinder and finish at the nearest.

Re: Bleeding procedure
But do you go slow down and quick up or quick down and slow up? When do you open and close the bleed valve? Should you get your wife involved? What do you use to clean the brake fluid up with? I reckon there are more variations and personal opinions about the brake bleeding ritual than just about any other moke maintainance issue...except maybe which oil to use.

Re: Bleeding procedure
Tim, I am aware of the requirement to have a couple of cold ones in a cooler of ice at hand to provide the incentive (or should that be a distraction?) to finish doing it.
